Sony NWZ-A826K MP4 player which has taken over from Sony’s NWZ-A810 series has caught a commendable place in the MP4 player’s world with its mind blowing audio quality. Their current walkman series is given birth to a lot of sensational quality audio products and this MP4 player too lives up to its name.
Design:
This new 4GB entry level walkman boasts a slimmer and a stylish Aluminium exterior. The player’s fool-proof menu system can be navigated with the help of the small square control pad that is present on the fascia of the player. The screen is an impressive 2.4 inch QVGA, which handles fine levels of details in an excellent manner. This display has a resolution of 320X240 pixels and boasts to have terrific pixel density to produce sharp images.
The fascia of the player has a dedicated button for Bluetooth, in order to turn and off it. Since the player comes with a proprietary USB cable, you surely cannot afford to loose it.
Bluetooth- the key feature:
The key feature of Sony NWZ-A826 MP4/MP3 Player is its integrated Bluetooth functionality, DR-BT21G. Sony provides its own on-ear headphones in addition to a standard wired pair.
The in ear buds are of very good quality and it comes with a larger pair of Bluetooth headphones that allows you to enjoy your music wirelessly. This wireless set up process might be confusing for you initially but once you get used to it, Sony NWZA826 will be the best entertainer. The Bluetooth capabilities of Sony NWZ-A826 are amazing, but this would all go in vain in case Sony fails in its core functionalities. But fortunately, there are no problems with that too.
Loading audio and video:
Loading the songs in to the device is a simple task. This can be done by either using the windows media player or just drag and drop in to the set from your PC. This Sony MP4 player is compatible with MPEG-4 and AVC (H.264) files; unfortunately, getting them on the player is proving to be problematic. Sony has provides the MP3 ripper and Media Manager. Loading the videos is not as simple as that of loading the music files. The video files have to be moved in to the Media Manager before they can be transferred, which is of course a very tedious process. The album art feature is supported too.
Excellent sound quality:
When it comes to the main feature of the MP4 player, that is the sound quality, it is nothing less than excellent. The sound quality is very rich and smooth. Even when a cheaper third party head phone was used, the music sounded decent. The separation between vocal and instruments is great. Either WMA or ACC, Sony never fails to deliver great performance.
The second most important feature of the Sony NWZ-A826K 4gb Video Walkman with Bluetooh is the video playback capability which is good too. The size and quality of its 2.4″ screen is too good. The quality of this display can be compared with that of Apple iPod classic’s display. The colours are sharp and bright.
Amazing battery life:
Sony NWZ-A826k video player switch on swiftly the charging is also very speedy. This player has a mighty battery life of 36hours of audio and 10 hours of video. It takes just under a minute to upload 100MBs of music.
But you are not getting it cheap:
Sony’s NWZ-A826 portable video player is not cheap as for this cost; you can get twice the capacity for 10 pounds less in Apple iPod Nano. But if you are wondering, then for what is this cost for, then it is for Bluetooth, longer battery life and a few more additional features.
While the overall performance can be said to be excellent, we will still have to accept that there are a few niggles as this player still is not able to support gapless playback, which is a great disappointment for DJ mixes fans.
Verdict:
Sony NWZA826K MP4 Walkman Video player has all the mandatory features that an MP4 player is required to have. Its good looks, quality audio and video playback capabilities and most importantly its Bluetooth capabilities are too good. But the only worrying fact is its cost which is whooping for the player’s 4GB capacity. Sony’s NWZ-A826 will be a good companion if you are sure to use its Bluetooth but NWZ-A826 will find it tough to justify the premium given only its audio performance. There is no doubt that NWZ-A826 is a great MP4 player and not everybody worships the altar of Apple, so, if you are one such person, then Sony NWZ-A826 MP4 is a great choice for you.
